About
My Chocolate Journey
My love of food and premium ingredients led me on a natural path towards chocolate truffle making.
I began experimenting with truffles a decade ago as a hobby, mainly around the holidays, because I wanted to offer something different from the standard cookie exchanges.
It allowed me to share my love for artistically-presented, high-quality and ethically-sourced chocolate confections with my friends and family. Plus, the challenge of working with chocolate, to me, is akin to chemistry and physics, and certainly geeky enough to be a pursuit worth my efforts.
This passion project over time evolved into a business, focused on creativity, sustainability, and inclusivity. Chocolate making is an outlet for my creativity, which stems from my background in fine arts, technology and media. As well, having grown up in Latin America, respect for the environment was an early influence on my life path. A need to ensure sustainability when acquiring and using products is a core value.
As a member of the queer community, respect for inclusiveness is important to me and I aim to proudly represent, unapologetically loud and proud. Queen Bee Chocolatier is based out of Toronto, Canada - one of the most culturally diverse cities in the world.
